TING mobile cell phone savings

I've been a AT&T customer for many years, their great service and selection of phones always kept me returning for their mobile services. Whenever I had any type of upgrade or question I could simply walk into a AT&T store and get my questions resolved.  So I had no need to think about moving to other cell phone carriers when I could always find some type of shared plan that worked for me and my family.

Google Voice Changes Everything:

As I wrote about recently here regarding my move to Google Voice for computer based telephone solutions, I no longer use my cell phone as a primary communications tool, which means I only use my cell phone when I am out of the house. All voice and text communications is now handled free through my computer.

Since Google Voice was covering nearly all of my phone and text usage, I thought I should consider reducing my cell phone plan to one that offers more flexibility. I found this flexibility with TING mobile solutions. Ting's billing system is really simple, you pay for what you use. Most Ting Mobile users have an average bill of $23 dollars.

Overpaying for Cell Phone Service:

With AT&T, even with my shared family plan coverage my bill for just my cell phone was at least $60- $70 dollars per month. I realized when I read through my AT&T bill, and discussed the planning options with the AT&T associates, billing was factored ahead of my usage. So I was basically paying into a tiered structure setup based on my potential usage.

Hello Ting Mobile:

Ting Mobile on the other hand creates a bill after your usage is completed for the month. This type of billing structure allows me to pay very little for my cell phone at a time when I don't need to use it as often as I used to.

Ting Mobile Benefits:

My first full month with Ting mobile cost me under $30 dollars. Also, as you can see from the screenshot at the upper right, the Ting Mobile bill is so much easier to read and understand that my previous carrier bill.

Same Phone, Same Phone Number:

Ting allows you to use your existing phone and phone number. Ting sent me a new SIM chip, which after swapping out I was able to move to the Ting network in one day. They also had a really good selection of new phones, which I will try out when my wife needs her phone upgraded. For now, I wanted to try out Ting Mobile first before moving her service over as well.

Cell Phone Coverage:

Ting mobile's coverage, which I've read is primarily Sprint and T-Mobile works better than my previous AT&T coverage. You should test out the coverage in your area to see if this will work for you.

Excellent Customer Service:

Ting's US based customer service team is awesome. I had a few questions before I decided to move to Ting. Their associates explained everything to me. In an time when live customer service can be hard to find, Ting makes it really easy to question the benefits of your existing cell phone carrier.

Give Ting Mobile a Try:

If you are convinced that you might be overpaying for your cell phone bill, I recommend checking Ting Mobile out for yourself. In some circumstances, Ting will give you a free $25 dollar credit for trying out their service. Given that there is no annual contract, you have nothing to lose.
